Youth Blog
Great job everyone at the first show! Everyone did a great job showing their pony! Now let’s keep it going and have us a great season!
Our first show on March 1st was just the start of the season. We only have 6 shows this year, so if we want saddles as the end of the year we need to go big with our fundraisers.
After the end of the Youth classes, we had a meeting to help plan out the fundraisers for the season. We decided to have a Bake Sale for the April 5th show. We would like everyone to talk to their friends, neighbors and family to get them to donate some cookies or a pie. Maybe you can even have a baking party! Any donations for the bake sale will be greatly appreciated.
At all the shows the youth will have a donation box out. Please feel free to help out the future of cutting and donate the spare change in your pocket. It will be greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us either on our phones, or through the email cowgirl_cuties1@yahoo.com.

NCCHA is Giving  Saddles in 2008

A message from one of our members

I would like to thank everyone involved with the NCCHA for such a great show and for sponsoring the Cajun saddles.  This past year was my first time in the show pen; to say the least it was terrifying and frustrating, but just being there was dream come true.  My whole life, I have had one goal, to train and show cutting horses.  I still have an awful lot to learn, but this is the first time in my 23 years that I have had anything tangible to show for my life's obsession.  The horses themselves have always made cutting a worthwhile endeavor; but there is also the good people of this industry, people who have shaped my life in the arena as well as in the world.  In the words of John Burroughts, "For anything worth having, one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love and self sacrifice."  I know that all of you involved with the NCCHA has paid this price, and for that I am so grateful.

NCCHA is Giving Ten (10) Cajun Saddles in 2007
AND  (2) Cajun Saddles in our Youth Classes

For those of you that are not familiar with Cajun.  He is a master saddle maker.
Other saddle makers like Gene Bader, Leddy all worked and learned for Cajun in the early days.  Cajun makes a top quality saddle with Nettle stirrups.  NCCHA is So Proud to offer Cajun Saddles to our membership.  You are going to love to ride in your new Cajun Saddle.

Cutters who finished in the Top 10 in their Area or Affiliate standings in 2006 are eligible to compete in the Wayne Hodges Trailers * Outlaw Conversions NCHA Western Nati
onal Championships, scheduled for April 25-May 5, 2007 in scenic Ogden, Utah. In addition to all the action in the Golden Spike Arena, the show will feature the $27,000 AQHA/NCHA Affiliate Challenge, twice-daily broadcasts of Tom Holt's NCHA Cutting Edge News, presented by Galles Harrel Cutting Clinics, a team roping for cutters and friends, and the Daily Chatter newsletter. Don't Forget Your Papers
Remember that proof of NCHA membership and a copy of each horse's registration papers must be presented to the show secretary at the time of entry. Beginning with the 2007 point year, show secretaries may levy a fine of $5.00 for each violation. The required documentation can be as simple as a photo copy of your membership card overlaid on the horse's papers.

This brings NCHA in line with accepted practices at other major show associations and it will streamline and accelerate the processing of show results.

United We Stand

For the riders who are competing for points, I’d like to give you some words of encouragement.  Do you realize that in one show, you can advance 5 places in the standing?  You never know what will happen at the next show.  The person leading could lose two cows and you could win your class.  Don’t ever tell yourself, you don’t have a chance, because you’re defeating yourself before you ever step to the herd.  Tell yourself  "I Can Do It"  You are a winner, if you try to Do Your Personal Best.

There are three kinds of people

Those Who Make Things Happen,
Those Who Watch Things Happen, AND
Those Who Wonder What Happened

Choose to Make Things Happen, Think Positive and Never Give Up

Rule B.2.a A horse must be shown in no less than 50% of a class of the total shows of the current year to qualify for the year-end awards and high point standings. (i.e.; if you only show in 2 of 6 shows in a class, points will not count toward year-end awards or high point standings).
